About Nina S. Heide
I’m a Norwegian author who writes from the space where real life and imagination meet. I’ve always carried big questions about life, death, and everything in between, and writing is simply my way of working through them. Honestly, I write because I can’t not write.
I’ve spent the last 45 years traveling the world, with more than half of that time in Africa. You might expect my stories to be rooted in one of those places, but they’re not. They always seem to settle somewhere in-between. I think that’s because the themes I write about don’t belong to any single culture or landscape; they’re simply part of being human.
For me, stories often feel less like something I invent and more like something that surfaces, a whisper from deep inside, or maybe an echo we all carry. And when I write them down, they become a way to connect, not just to myself, but to anyone who finds a piece of their own story in mine.
